Ozigbo Chineto Valentine is a Nigerian former banker, entrepreneur, philanthropist and politician who hails from Amesi town in Anambra State Nigeria.

He is immediate past president and CEO of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), a conglomerate with focus on hospitality, energy and agriculture.

Early Life & Education

Mr. Ozigbo Chineto Valentine was born on July 20,1970 to the family of Mr. Andrew & Mrs. Christiana Ozigbo.

He attended Christ Redeemers College Amesi and would later take up a teaching job at the college while processing his admission into university.

Mr. Ozigbo stood out while in college from the rest of the students, he always represented the college at inter school academic competitions.

Mr. Chineto later moved to university of Nigeria Nsukka in pursuit of tertiary education. By 1994, he graduated from the university as best accounting student of his class.

Because of his love for education, the former Transcorp CEO, pursued post graduate studies while working for some of the best firms in Nigeria.

He obtained his MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2000.

He also acquired M.Sc from Lancaster University in United Kingdom. The Anambra born philanthropist has many certifications and belong to numerous professional bodies in Nigeria.

Some of which are Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Institute of Credit Administration.

Career

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo enjoyed a blistering career, working with top multinationals especially in the banking sector.

He spent over seventeen year in banking world working for some of the biggest banks in Nigeria like United Bank for Africa, Diamond Bank, Continental Trust Bank, Bank PHB, NAL Merchant Bank and Standard Trust Bank.

In 2011, he ascended to the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of one of Nigeria’s biggest firms, Transcorp.

His Transcorp career saw a tremendous growth and expansion of the firm.

He was also responsible for developing five new projects worth over $500 million including two hotels in Lagos and Port Harcourt, a 5000-capacity conference facility, luxury apartments and the upgrade of existing hotels with additional retail facilities.

During his era at Transcorp, the company cemented its place as the leading hospitality firm in Nigeria.

In 2019, he left Transport to pursue a career in politics. He has long joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State and is tipped to contest the upcoming 2023 Anambra State Gubernatorial election.

In one of his interviews with Ovation magazine, he outlined his dream of making Anambra State investment destination if given the opportunity to lead the state.

The former Transcorp CEO is happily married with three sons. He is also active on social media with Twitter handle of @ValentineOzigbo.

Philanthropy

Mr. Ozigbo is top philanthropist and man with heart of gold. He runs a foundation, Chineto Ozigbo Foundation which aims to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and improve health care across Nigeria.

Through his foundation, the Anambra born former banker announced N100 million for small and medium business enterprises in Anambra State.

Mr. Chineto donated generously towards alleviating the plight of masses during of COVID-19 pandemic especially in his home state Anambra.

He donated over 20 million naira to all communities in Anambra State alongside materials like face masks and hand sanitizers.

His kindness and love by youths earned him the name “King Of the Youths”.
