Salary of Immigration Officers in Nigeria
Until the year 1958, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) was part of Nigeria police known as Immigration Department.
A legal backing was given to Immigration Department in the year 1963 by an act of parliament cap 171 laws of federation Nigeria.
By the year 1991, through some governmental reforms, the service changed from Immigration Department to Nigeria Immigration Service, thereby changing the title of its head from Director Immigration to Comptroller General Immigration.
The service among other things is charged with the mandate of migration management in Nigeria.
Nigeria Immigration Service has commands in all states of federation as well as eight zonal headquarters which oversees the affairs of states in their jurisdiction.
The paramilitary agency has training schools spread across the country where men and officers of the service are trained and retrained.
One of the popular Immigration schools in the country is the Nigeria Immigration Training school Kano.The paramilitary agency is under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Interior.
The service is headed by Comptroller General (CG) who is appointed by the President.

Nigeria Immigration Service Salary Structure
Salary of staff of Nigeria Immigration Service is under Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure CONPASS. This is salary structure shared by all paramilitary agencies in Nigeria.
Degree holders join the service as Assistant Superintendent Immigration II earns between N1, 620,000 – N1, 800,000 per annum.
O’level holders join the service as immigration Assistant and earn between N450, 000 – N550, 000 per annum.
OND degree holders join the service as Assistant Inspector Immigration and earns between N700,000 – N800, 000.
Officers in the rank between Comptroller Immigration to Comptroller General earn between N2,250, 000 – N3,000,000 annually.
