This is reflected in salaries paid by each states. Some states pay higher and bigger salaries than other.

This is so applicable in earnings of teachers across Nigeria.

Some state government teachers earn highly compared to what their level and counterparts earns elsewhere.

There aren’t much differences between salaries of teachers in different states especially in southern Nigerian states.

Enugu state is also one of the highest paying states to teachers in southeast region.

Teachers Salaries at Rivers, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom & Cross River States

Rivers state starting salaries for teachers is the highest in the region. Starting salaries for teachers in a Rivers states is around N45,000 per month.

This is Rivers state teachers salary for newly employed secondary school teachers. While Primary schools teachers in Rivers state earn a little below those of secondary school counterparts as teachers take off salary in Rivers state.

Teachers Salaries at Abuja, Kaduna, Benue, Kano, Kwara & Kogi states

Up north, Abuja and Benue pay some of the biggest salaries to teachers.

Starting salaries for teachers in government schools in Abuja and Benue is between N40,000 to N45,000 per month.

Salary of teachers in other northern states like Kaduna, Kwara, Kano, Kogi, Niger State and Nasarawa is between N30,000 to N35,000 per month.
